Seminar on Educational Vision of Tagore

In commemoration of the Centenary  year of the publication of Geethanjali (1910), the first Nobel Prize  Winner of India, a Seminar on Educational Vision of  Tagore  was  organised by  the  Dr. K. Sivadasan Pillai Foundation   (SPFERD)  in collaboration with Council for  Teacher Education  (CTE) Kerala on 19th February, 2010  at Kerala  Hindi Prachar Sabha, Vazhuthacaud, Thiruvananthapuram. Dr. A. Sukumaran Nair, Former Vice Chancellor, M.G. University inaugurated the function.   In his inaugural address Dr. Nair emphasized the relevance of educational vision of Tagore in the present context. Dr. C.P. Sreekantan Nair, Chairman, CTE chaired the meeting.

Sri. A. Prabhakaran, Chairman, SPFERD was honoured at the function by presenting ‘Ponnada’ for being assigned the new post of Director, FM Radio, IGNOU. Thiruvananthapurm. Dr. Madhubala Jayachandran,  Lecturer, New M.Ed College  Nellimoodu introduced  Sri. Prabhakaran and highlighted his  services to the cause of education.The cash prizes and certificates for the  winners of the Essay competition held for Student - Teachers in the State in connection with the Second  Commemoration  Day Observation (8th Nov 2009) of Dr. K. Sivadasan Pillai, veteran Teacher Educator &  stalwart in the field of Non-formal Education.

After that Dr. K. Sivarajan, Director, Department of Adult, Continuing Education and Extension, Calicut University presented the theme paper.

Sasikumar, Executive Director, SPFERD welcomed the guests and participants. Dr. K. Rajeswari (Lecturer, Govt. CTE, Thiruvananthapuram) expressed Vote of Thanks.
